These pH Test Strips are designed to test water systems. You might be able to dissolve some of the wood in water and then test the water for pH.

I have recently stripped paint off of exterior trim with a product that has a pH of 12. I need to reduce to th pH to <= 8 before painting, so I need a pH tester for that purpose.
